The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras has officially released the notification for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE 2027) on 20th July 2026. GATE is a national-level Computer-Based Test (CBT) held across 30 test papers for admissions to M.E., M.Tech, Direct Ph.D. programs at top institutes (IITs, NITs, CFTIs) and for executive recruitment in Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs). Eligibility Criteria & Exam Details
- Age Limit: There is no upper or lower age limit to appear for GATE 2027.
- Educational Qualification: Candidates currently studying in the 3rd or final year of any undergraduate degree program, OR those who have completed a government-approved degree in Engineering / Technology / Architecture / Science / Commerce / Arts are eligible.
- Test Mode: Computer Based Test (CBT) across designated centers nationwide.
- Paper Combinations: Candidates can choose to appear for one or two designated test papers.

- Complete registration on GOAPS using a valid email ID and mobile number to generate login credentials.
- Log in and fill in personal details, degree information, choice of test paper(s), and exam city preferences.
- Upload high-quality scanned copies of your photograph, signature, Category Certificate (if applicable), and PwD Certificate.
- Pay the prescribed application fee through online payment channels.
- Submit the application form and keep a printed copy of the confirmation page for future reference.
