The Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) have officially released the short recruitment notification for Centralised Employment Notice (CEN) No. 04/2026 on 21 July 2026. This recruitment drive aims to fill 4,098 vacancies for Junior Engineer (JE), Depot Material Superintendent (DMS), and Chemical & Metallurgical Assistant (CMA) positions across various regional railway zones in India. Eligible diploma holders and engineering graduates can begin online registration starting August 14, 2026.

Age Limit & Educational Qualification (As on 01/01/2027)

• Age Limit: Minimum 18 Years and Maximum 33 Years. Upper age relaxations apply as per government norms (OBC: 3 Years, SC/ST: 5 Years, PwBD: 10 Years).
• Junior Engineer (JE) & DMS: Must possess a 3-Year Diploma in Engineering or a B.E. / B.Tech degree in the relevant technical branch from a recognized university/institution.
• Chemical & Metallurgical Assistant (CMA): Bachelor's Degree in Science (B.Sc.) with Physics and Chemistry, or BCA degree qualifications as per specific branch eligibility rules.
• Pay Scale: Level-6 under 7th CPC Pay Matrix (Initial Pay Rs. 35,400/- plus admissible allowances).

1. Stage 1: 1st Stage Computer Based Test (CBT-I – Objective screening test)
2. Stage 2: 2nd Stage Computer Based Test (CBT-II – Domain-specific technical paper)
3. Stage 3: Document Verification (DV)
4. Stage 4: Medical Examination (ME) as per prescribed Indian Railways medical standards

How to Apply for RRB JE CEN 04/2026 Online Form

1. Visit the centralized application portal at rrbapply.gov.in between August 14 and September 13, 2026.
2. Click on "Create an Account" and register with an active mobile number and valid email ID.
3. Log in using your generated credentials, select your preferred RRB zone, and fill out personal, educational, and category details.
4. Capture your live photograph via webcam or front camera following instructions, and upload scanned signature and certificates.
5. Pay the application fee via online payment options (Net Banking/Debit/Credit Card/UPI).
6. Submit the application form and download a printed copy for future reference.
